Research Paper Synopsis

Education significantly shapes the growth and development of societies, influencing numerous aspects of life, including job opportunities, healthy lifestyles, crime reduction, cultural exchange, and community norms. Despite its universal importance, there is a global disparity in educational quality and equality. For my research, I am focusing specifically on K-12 Education and the impact of government involvement in education funding on student performance. This connects to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 10 and 4. The 10th SDG is Reducing Inequalities, focused on reducing income inequality and disparities based on age, sex, disability, race, ethnicity, or economic status within and among countries by 2030. The 4th SDG is  Quality Education, which aims to provide universal access to free  primary/secondary education, eliminate gender disparities, and increase access to vocational and technical training to boost skills for employment. Hundreds of millions of children lack equal access to K-12 education due to disparities in school funding. If these issues persist, the situation may worsen. To provide a broader perspective, I will explore the successes and challenges faced by other countries, particularly Germany and India.
